RGUKT Admission notification for the Academic Year 2023-24 will be released on
03-06-2023 and candidates can apply for admission by filling online applications from
04-06-2023 up to 26-6-2023 through any of the AP online centres. Special Category
(PH/CAP/NCC/Sports/Barat Scouts) Certificate Verification will be done from 5th July to
9th July in Nuzvid campus. Tentatively the results will be declared on 13th July 2023 and
certificate verification will be taken up during the 3rd week of July and Classes will
commence during the 1st week of August 2023. The detailed notification including date
of release of selection list and counselling dates will be placed on the University website
www.rgukt.in.

As per GO Ms. N0.43, Higher Education (EC) Department dated 19-08-2021, a
deprivation score will be added to the students who studied in Government Schools and
the deprivation shall be decided by the Governing Council of RGUKT every year before
admission notification.
During Covid period for two years from 2020-21 to 2021-22, RGUKT conducted a
due to COVID-19 Common Entrance Test for admissions as 10th examinations could not
be conducted. For 2022-23 academic year, admissions were done based on the 10th class
merit by adding a deprivation of 4% to the students studied in Government Schools as
recommended by the Governing Council.
In its 63rd Governing Council meeting dated 25-5-2023, it is resolved that a
deprivation of 4% marks will be added to the candidates studied in Government Schools
in the 10th class examination.
There are 4000 seats available in all four campuses (1000 per campus) and
additional supernumerary seats of 400 (10%) (100 per campus) for EWS candidates. Out
this 85% seats are reserved for Andhra Pradesh candidates and 15% are for open merit
(for both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana).
Selection is based on the 10th class merit following rule of reservation as per AP
State Government norms. In case of tie in the merit and category, selection will be done
following the sequential order as mentioned below.

i. Higher marks in Mathematics
ii. Higher marks in General Science
iii. Higher marks in English
iv. Higher marks in Social Studies
v. Higher marks in 1st Language
vi. Elder candidate as per the Date of Birth
vii. Lowest random number obtained from the hall ticket number.

5% supernumerary seats are available for candidates belonging to states other than
Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Tuition fee for such candidates is Rs.1,50,000/- per
annum.
There is an exit option available to the students after two years PUC program. They can
join elsewhere only after all the academic requirements are satisfied according to RGUKT
guidelines. RGUKT follows a multidisciplinary approach. Therefore, elementary biology
is compulsory in the PUC programme; pass in biology is necessary although grades in
biology are not used either for branch allocation or to arrive at CGPA. Engineering
Branches will be allotted based on the merit in the PUC following rule of reservation as
per AP State Government norms.
In view of National Education Policy (2020), RGUKT modularized the six year integrated
B.Tech program and award a certificate (title of the certificate to be decided) with 40
credits after completing first year of B.Tech; award a diploma in respective branch of
engineering after completing 2nd year of B.Tech with 80 credits apart from awarding
degree after four years of B.Tech. Further RGUKT is also planning to offer B.Tech
honors/minor degree (after grouping courses) with an additional 20 credits.
Candidates are advised to give their campus preferences carefully. Campus will be
allowed based on the preference given by the candidates in the online application as per
his/her merit and category. In no case, internal transfer of candidates between the
campuses is permitted after completion of the entire admission process. Students must
study in the campus where they are finally admitted as per their choice and preference.
